Introduction and purpose On the occasion of the 25th anniversary (2000–2025) of the declaration of the Archaeological Ensemble of Tarraco (Tarragona) as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the RadioClub del Tarragonès (EA3RCY) organizes this international award, open to all licensed amateur radio operators and SWL listeners worldwide. The aim is to promote amateur radio with a cultural and educational character, to disseminate the historical legacy of Tarraco, and to commemorate this anniversary with the special activation of AO25TWHS. 2. Period of activity From November 1 to November 30, 2025 (00:00–23:59 UTC). Activations will take place at different times, depending on operator availability. 3. Special station and activators Special callsign: AO25TWHS. Operated by members and supporters of the RadioClub del Tarragonès. There will be only one simultaneous activator per band/mode combination, ensuring the validity of the contacts. ALL ACTIVATORS WILL USE THE SAME CALLSIGN: AO25TWHS. The complete list of authorized activators will be published on the official award website. The coordination of bands and modes among activators will be handled internally by the RadioClub del Tarragonès. 4. Authorized bands and modes HF: 160, 80, 40, 30, 20, 17, 15, 12 and 10 meters. VHF: 2 meters FM (for local QSOs) SAT Valid modes: SSB Digital modes (FT8/FT4) FM Satellites Conditions: IARU band plans will be respected. The operator will call: “CQ AO25TWHS – 25 years of Tarraco World Heritage”. Use of DX Cluster is permitted. 5. Awards and requirements To obtain the award, the participant must reach a minimum of 50 points, according to the following scoring table: Mode / Band, Points SSB, 5 Digital (FT8, FT4), 3 VHF 2m FM, 10 Satellites, 50 (Contacts are counted per day, band and mode). Accreditation rules: - AO25TWHS can be worked once per day on each band and mode. - The same QSO may be repeated the following day, on the same or any other band/mode, to continue accumulating points. - Duplicates on the same day, band and mode will not be counted. Award modalities: - General (Mixed) Award - SSB Award - Digital Award - VHF 2M Award - Satellite Award Rankings will also be published for general and for each mode or band. 6. SWL participation SWLs may obtain the award. To validate, they must send a log including: • Date and UTC time • Band and mode • Correspondent’s callsign and content heard The log must be sent (SWL only) to info@ea3rcy.org. The organization will verify it against the official logs. Duplicate receptions on the same day, band and mode will not be counted. 7. Log validation and management Log management and cross-checking will be carried out exclusively at ao25twhs.ea3rcy.org, using the Hamaward.Cloud platform. Activators will upload their logs periodically or in real time. Bands and modes currently active for AO25TWHS can be checked online. Participants do not need to send their logs. Records on the platform will be considered official for verification purposes. 8. Obtaining the awards Awards will be issued in free PDF format and can be downloaded directly from the official website, once the minimum score has been reached. However, it is recommended to do so at the end of the activity so that the award reflects all points achieved. Rankings with participants’ scores will be published. 9. QSLs and confirmations After the end of the activity (from December 2025): • All QSOs will be confirmed on LoTW, QRZ.com and eQSL. • No paper QSLs will be issued. 10. Exclusions The following will not be considered valid: • QSOs made through analogue repeaters. • QSOs made through digital repeaters (DMR, Fusion, etc.) • QSOs via third-party or intermediary stations. • QSOs via VoIP platforms (EchoLink or others). 11. Corrections Corrections (wrong callsign, wrong band, etc.) may be requested up to 15 days after the end of the activity. Requests must be sent to info@ea3rcy.org and will be checked against the official logs. 12. Rules and conduct IARU rules and the current amateur radio regulations will apply. Ethical operation and good operating practice is expected. The organization may invalidate QSOs under irregular conditions. 13. Privacy and data processing The data collected (callsigns, logs) will be used exclusively for the management of the award. They will be shared only with Hamaward.Cloud (technical management) and with LoTW/QRZ/eQSL (QSO confirmations). 14. The rules are final and cannot be appealed. The RadioClub del Tarragonès (EA3RCY) reserves the right to modify the rules if deemed necessary. Any unforeseen situation will be resolved by the organization, and its decision will be final.
