Cluster Hunters Activators Statistics Rules

Participation:
open to all Italian and foreign OM and SWL

Period:
from 00:01 UTC on May 20, 2025, to 23:59 UTC on June 5, 2025. The last valid call will be at 23:59 UTC on June 5, 2025

Bands:
10 m, 15 m, 20 m, 40 m, and 80 m in the segments recommended by IARU - Region 1

Modes:
SSB, CW, RTTY, PSK, FT8, FT4.

Stations, the following stations will be active:
- Special Stations IQ6CC, IQ6CC/ZONE (alternating from all Italian regions)
- Local COTA Group Stations,
- Amateur Radio stations of members regularly registered with the Carabinieri COTA Amateur Radio Association for 2025 (full list on www.cota.cc)

On May 25, May 31, and June 5, 2025 from 00:01 UTC to 23:59 UTC there will be the “C.O.T.A. Award Special Day 2025”. All activating stations registered with the COTA Amateur Radio Association will assign DOUBLE points for each QSO compared to other days.

QSO Points:
- QSOs with Special Stations are worth 10 points in SSB, 5 in CW, 3 in digital;
- QSOs with Local Group Stations are worth 5 points in SSB, 3 in CW, 2 in digital;
- QSOs with Member Activator Stations are worth 3 points in SSB, 2 in CW, 1 in digital;

Notes:
Each station can be contacted only once per day per band and emission mode. Multiple contacts with the special station from different Italian regions are allowed (e.g., May 20, 2025: contact on 40 m with IQ6CC/7, IQ6CC/2, IQ6CC/1, etc.)

Reports:
- All stations will give RST without serial number;
Calling: in SSB “CQ 21st C.O.T.A. Award” or “CQ COTA.”, in CW and Digital “CQ COTA”

Award Points:
to download the award certificate from “HAMAWARD”, the following scores are required:
- “Bronze” Award: 300 points;
- “Silver” Award: 600 points;
- “Gold” Award: 1000 points.

Optional paper certificate on parchment:
- Those wishing to receive the exclusive diploma in paper/parchment format must send detailed request to: diploma@cota.cc

The request must include:
- Callsign of the requesting OM/YL/SWL station;
- Full name and exact postal address to send the COTA Diploma;
- Email address and phone number (if any);
- Copy of payment of €20.00 including printing and shipping.

Operational Notes - Will not be considered:
1) Communications/requests sent to addresses other than diploma@cota.cc;
2) Communications found incomplete or lacking required documentation;
3) Communications received after June 20, 2025.

Important notes for SWLs:
To participate as SWL, having an official SWL callsign is appreciated, and it must be included in the request (sent to: diploma@cota.cc), along with a log extract in ADIF and/or Cabrillo format. Also eligible for electronic and optional paper certificate as described above.

Participation implies full acceptance of the rules and commitment to ensuring the smooth running of the event.
In case of abuse, irregularities or inappropriate conduct, the Award Manager Gianluca IW7EBB will take any action, including exclusion from the event.

Rankings and Prizes:
The top three hunters will receive special prizes (plaque, painting, etc.).
Awards will be presented during the XXI C.O.T.A. radio meeting in Castelfidardo (AN); date to be announced on www.cota.cc
Event proceeds (net of costs) will be donated to O.N.A.O.M.A.C.

The award painting, original oil on canvas, will depict a Carabinieri Station by artist Roberta CUOMO.

Voluntary donations are welcome and will go entirely to the National Assistance for Orphans of Military Carabinieri.
