Associazione Radioamatori Italiani Sezione di Como, in collaboration with the Associazione Radioamatori Italiani Sezione di Cinisello Balsamo, organizes the “27° DIPLOMA VOLTA INTERNATIONAL MEMORIAL DAY 2025” as part of the anniversary of Alessandro Volta’s birth on February 18, 1745 (inventor of the battery, discoverer of electrochemical energy and methane gas). Participation is open to all OM and SWL worldwide.
For this edition of the Diploma, the Como Section provides, in addition to the usual awards (commemorative plaques).

PARTICIPATION:
All OM and SWL worldwide can participate in the Award.

DATE:
From 00.00 UTC on February 15, 2025, to 24.00 UTC on February 23, 2025.

DIPLOMA:
Bands 1.8 - 3.5 – 7 – 14 – 21 – 28 - 50 MHz
Italian stations: 20 points (minimum score to request the Award)
Foreign stations: 10 points (minimum score to request the Award)

MODES OF TRANSMISSION:
SSB – CW – RTTY – FT8

SCORING:
Stations belonging to the A.R.I. Como Section and the Cinisello Balsamo Section will call “27° VOLTA INTERNATIONAL MEMORIAL DAY” and will give applicants: signal report + RS-T.
Stations belonging to the A.R.I. Como Section and the Cinisello Balsamo Section with a regular callsign will award 1 point; every day, special Jolly stations will be active with the callsigns IQ2DB (Como Section callsign) and IQ2CJ (Cinisello Section callsign), awarding 2 points, and the special callsign II2V (special callsign for the Volta International Memorial Day, QSL Manager IK2AQZ) awarding 3 points. Joker stations (II2V – IQ2DB – IQ2CJ) can be contacted once per day per band and mode.

DIPLOMA:
The V.I.M.D. Diploma and electronic QSLs will be managed through the Hamaward platform. The Award can be downloaded at the end of the event.
Activators commit to using the Hamaward platform for Award management and avoiding unattended transmissions.

AWARDS:
The top three participants in each category (Italian and foreign) and the top operators from Como and Cinisello will be awarded.
No contribution will be required for prize shipping.
Prizes will be sent by the end of 2025.
