The CISAR Campobasso Section has organized an event from August 14th to August 24th, 2024, in remembrance of Saint Maximilian Maria Kolbe (SP3RN), who was killed on August 14th, 1941, in the Auschwitz concentration camp, having volunteered to take the place of a family man.

The Conventual Friars of the Parish of St. Peter the Apostle in Campobasso have kindly granted the use of a room to the CISAR Campobasso Section on August 14th, 2024, for the radio station, which will be operational under the special callsign II8SMK, and for the antenna, which will be installed in the square in front of the Church.

The callsign II8SMK will be active at the Parish of St. Peter the Apostle in Campobasso only on August 14th, 2024, while in the following days, until August 24th, 2024, it will be operational from the QTH of the following activators: IZ8IAW Giuseppe, IW8XOI Vittorio, IK8EQG Giovanni, IK8HWR Claudio, IW8XPL Filippo, IZ8YOM Domenico. All information about the event is available on QRZ.com through a page specifically created for the event, allowing each OM to know in real-time the activity of II8SMK.

Participation Rules for the Event:

1. Purpose
To promote friendship among radio amateurs worldwide, celebrating the memory of Saint Maximilian Maria Kolbe (SP3RN), priest, and martyr.

2. Duration and Operating Times
From 00:00 UTC on August 14th, 2024, to 00:00 on August 24th, 2024.

3. Operating Bands
HF: 160 - 80 – 40 – 30 – 20 – 17 – 15 – 12 – 10 meters.

4. Operating Modes
SSB, CW.

5. Reports
Only the RS(T) report is required.

6. Validity of QSO
The II8SMK station can be contacted only once per day on all bands.

7. Log Submission
No log submission is required! To participate in the event in remembrance of Saint Maximilian Maria Kolbe (SP3RN), once II8SMK is contacted, simply check on QRZ.com, on the dedicated event page, that your call sign is listed on the HamAward portal and then download your QSL and Diploma.

8. QSL
For each QSO, an electronic QSL will be issued and can be downloaded from QRZ.com, as specified in point 7.

Paper QSLs via the bureau through IZ8IAW must be requested via email at cisarcb@libero.it. Direct QSLs will be sent upon request via email at cisarcb@libero.it and upon payment, through the secure PayPal system, to iw8xoi@libero.it, of the following amounts, divided by country:
Italy, €1.50
Europe, €3.00
Non-European countries and USA, €4.00
Other countries, €5.00
